Risi Competizione 2018 24 Hours At Daytona Preview
Rick Mayer, race engineer of the Risi Competizione No. 62 Ferrari 488 GTLM team, gives us a preview of this year’s Rolex 24 At Daytona, January 25-28, 2018. The team announced two additional drivers joining Risi Competizione for the 56th running of the 24-hour race. The No. 62 Ferrari 488 GTLM of Toni Vilander of Finland, Brit James Calado and Italian Alessandro Pier Guidi will also welcome Italian Davide Rigon to the cockpit. The No. 82 Ferrari 488 GT3-spec GTD entry is joined by fifth driver Matt Griffin of Ireland to support Spaniard Miguel Molina and a trio of Mexican drivers including Martin Fuentes, Santiago Creel and Ricardo Perez de Lara.
Risi Competizione Pleased with Daytona Roar Test Days
The Risi Competizione two-car team used the Roar Before the 24 test days to get both Ferrari 488s prepared for the upcoming Rolex 24 At Daytona race, January 25-28. Italian Alessandro Pier Guidi piloted the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GTLM entry all weekend and was happy with the progress made with the team to get the Prancing Horse race ready for the twice-around-the-clock endurance race. Toni Vilander and James Calado will co-drive with Pier Guidi for the race and all are Ferrari factory GT drivers.
Risi Competizione to Enter 2018 IMSA Rolex 24 At Daytona Race with Two Car Team
Risi Competizione will enter the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season with a two-car team for the upcoming Rolex 24 At Daytona, January 25-28. The Daytona entries consist of the No. 62 Ferrari 488 GTLM (Grand Touring Le Mans class) with Toni Vilander of Finland, Brit James Calado and Italian Alessandro Pier Guidi. For the upcoming Roar Before the 24 Test Days, January 5-7, Pier Guidi will be the only driver on hand to do the testing chores for the GTLM team entry.
